Ahead of the kick-off of Act 4 of the Guinness Super League championship, clubs were granted sets of football kits on October 16, 2023.

To launch the 2023-2024 season of the Guinness Super League (GSL) football championship, a press briefing was organized on Monday 16th of October 2023 at the head office of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) in Yaounde.

The press briefing coupled with the official handing over of football kits to clubs of the GSL was chaired by, Celine Eko Mendomo, 1st Vice-President of FECAFOOT and president of the female football league alongside representatives of clubs and les Boissons du Cameroun.

After deliberations with presidents and representatives of clubs competing in the GSL, there was a session dedicated to the handing over of football equipment. Balls, jerseys, sports bags, and other football kits were given to all 12 clubs engaged in the championship this season.

Speaking at the end of the ceremony, Celine Eko said several innovations will be highlighted during the upcoming season, and for a smooth running of the female football championship, les Boissons du Cameroun currently leading the brand Guinness, will pursue the different clauses of their partnership with FECAFOOT.

Mr. Nkoa Luc, president of Lekie Filles football club, and title holder of the Cameroon female championship praised the partnership renewed with Guinness through les Boissons du Cameroun. He said the new season shows signs of a festive mood and hopes all will end well as usual.

On her part, the Secretary General of Caiman Filles Football Club,Larissa Ngueleko said the partnership with Guinness should go a long way. The fact that Guinness is engaged in female football championship is a great relief to several clubs who have huge financial charges to overcome.

For the past 4 years now, thanks to Guinness, the championship has a new face in terms of organization and salaries of players who are taken in charge.

Yves Christian Dikongo, Representative of les Boissons du Cameroun reassured the public of innovative measures put in place to grant them a nice jamboree during the 2023-2024 season. He said les Boissons du Cameroun as a social enterprise will always offer all what is special to its public in particular and to the population in particular.

He added: “Guinness shines and will keep shining in the female football championship…”

The official kick-off match slated for October 21, 2023, in Douala, will put on scene Authentic Ladies Football Club and defending champions, Lekie Filles Football Club. In the second match, Caiman Filles FC welcomes Amazone FAP for a tight derby.

In the Center region, day 1 of this championship will feature Eding filles FC against Fortuna.

The competition will run for close to 6 months and the champion will bag 10 Million FCFA plus a ticket to represent Cameroon in the 2025 UNIFFAC Women’s CAF Champions League.
